The Flip the Script campaign will expose the issues surrounding diversity in Hollywood by breaking the standard and implementing change. It will encompass a series of strategies that will educate society to make more informed choices and prompt them to partake in the movement of diversifying Hollywood. The campaign will incorporate methods that will create a connective impact with society. It will not only promote the campaign, it will create a network of individuals that will support and celebrate diversity in Hollywood. The campaign will inspire society to show Hollywood that they have a voice and the power to inflict change by “flipping the script” on the industry.

The hashtag #flipthescript will be added to each strategy to connect them all to the event. With the hashtag people can look up and connect with the cause and the event information through social media.
The use of the “flip” symbol in the logo not only represents the message of the campaign, but it is also a call to action to society. The physicality of the symbol represents the power society has to take action toward diversifying Hollywood in conjunction with the campaign to implement change.
An online webisode series on Youtube features Funny or Die’s Billy on the Street. With a humorous and viral foundation,
the series will bring attention to the lack of recognition to minority actors in Hollywood. The guest stars will be minority actors that had or will have roles in big box office movies. In true Billy Eichner style they will travel the streets quizzing people
on a range of topics. These include: If people know the actors? Where is He/She from? If people know facts about
diversity statistics? Etc.
The Hollywood Walk of Shame is a guerrilla campaign that gives society an alternative activity to visiting the movies. The stars of individuals that have failed to contribute to the diversification of Hollywood will be covered with a black tile. On this tile will be  information pertaining to the individual’s contribution to the diversity problem in Hollywood. The intent is not only to inform society with the information, but also to visually shock them to see how few stars remain on the walk. The potential impact for a viral phenomenon will encourage society to take action.
The mural displays two mounds of film tape. The large mound represents the percentage of directors in Hollywood. The small mound represents the percentage of female directors in Hollywood. The contrast between the two will visually impact society by showing a visual representation of the shocking percentages. The verbal impact occurs through the demeaning categorization of director versus a “female” director. Together they emphasize the separation that occurs in Hollywood.
The Flip The Script Event will be held on a significant opening weekend in the box offices. For this weekend people opt out of going to the movies and come together to participate in the celebration of diversity in Hollywood. The event will be held in a revamped abandoned movie theater. The choice of a restored movie theater for the venue symbolizes taking something old and making it something new. It symbolizes that change reams good results that benefit all.

The event will consist of movie screenings and panel meet and greets. The movies that will be showcased will be ones that are diverse in nature, both in nationality and / or sex. Panels will be organized through out the event with cast members from the screened movies and another with the directors. These panels will not only allow the viewers to meet these people in the industry, but to also connect with them and any struggles that they may have faced due to the lack of diversity in Hollywood. This connection will further establish a sense of personal responsibility of those who attend the event, that together they can make a difference.

The event will also feature a museum that showcases minority trailblazers in the industry along with up and coming talent to watch. The museum will add an interesting educational aspect to the event. It will not only educate, but also spark interest with the attendees about the history of minorities in the industry and the differences that can be made. Seeing these trailblazers will uplift people and show them that there is action to be made and they can be a part of making it happen.
